This method helps student teams to reflect in a structured way on their collaboration, approach, or performance. By considering what is going well and what can be improved, this method encourages constructive feedback and continuous improvement.
1. Preparation, provide each group with a large sheet of paper. Divide the space into three columns: start | stop | continue. 2. Explain the Categories: Start → What do we want to start doing? what new approach or method could help us? Stop → What is not working or hindering collaboration? What should we stop doing? Doorgaan → What is going well and should we keep doing? 3. Gathering Individual Input • Students write down their ideas for each category on post-it notes in silence. • Each student then places their post-its in the corresponding column and explains their input. • The group discusses the input and clusters similar comments. 4. Formulating Action Points Have the group make concrete agreements based on their insights: • Which new methods will we try? • Which obstacles will we eliminate? • Which strengths will we continue to use? 5. Following Up on Agreements Plan a short moment after some time to reflect: Are the new agreements working? Is any adjustment needed? Example in a Project Group 🔹 Start: “Let’s schedule regular check-in moments so we stay better informed about each other’s progress.” 🔹 Stop: “We need to stop working last-minute because it causes stress and mistakes.” 🔹 Continue: “Our open and respectful communication is really helpful—we should maintain that.”
